Rio Ferdinand told Harry Kane that he needs to say what he thinks about a possible move to Manchester United. He also said that Chelsea will beat the Red Devils to a top replacement player.
This summer, United’s top goal is to sign a striker. Kane, Goncalo Ramos of Benfica, and Victor Osimhen of Napoli are all thought to be on their list of possible targets.
But Ferdinand thinks Chelsea will sign Osimhen before United does because Chelsea also needs a striker badly.
“I think Chelsea should get Osimhen this summer,” Ferdinand said on his YouTube channel FIVE. “Manchester United wants Harry Kane. Harry Kane won’t leave Spurs to go to Chelsea, not a chance.”
At the end of the season, Kane’s contract with United will have one year left, and it has been said that club chairman Daniel Levy could sell the England captain.
But Kane hasn’t said anything yet that suggests he wants to leave Spurs in the summer, and Ferdinand wants him to make a clear decision about his future.
“What’s the point of playing football as a young child? To win awards,” Ferdinand went on.
“That doesn’t change as you get older. If you can, you still want to win trophies. When you realize that not everyone has the chance because they don’t play for the right teams, you have to change your goals. He plays for Spurs, a team that wants to win trophies. They can’t and don’t do it. Since the final of the Champions League, they have gotten worse in how they play and how close they are to winning things. They are not even close.
“But you have to ask him the question, because that’s what we want him to answer. Tell us, man, “I want to be a one-club man, I want the statue outside, and I want to be known as Mr. Spurs.” All of us will say, “Well done, that’s fine.” But he has a chance to come to Man United now. “I’d love for him to, but the problem is Levy. I don’t know what he’ll ask for.”
