Jimmy Butler and the Miami Heat have always had a lot of faith in themselves. Even though not many people thought they would get to the Eastern Conference Finals and win Game 1 against the Boston Celtics, they never doubted themselves or what they could do.
After their 123-116 win over the Celtics on Wednesday, Butler said as much. Butler didn’t pause when asked if he thought the Heat would go far in the playoffs in 2023. He said, “Damn right, I did.”
As he went on with his statement, the Heat star also took a harsh shot at their critics, saying that all they cared about was what they thought of themselves and not what other people thought of them.
“Damn right, we did. The best part is that we still don’t care what any of you think about it… “It doesn’t matter to us if you pick us to win,” Butler said, according to ClutchPoints.
People who like the Heat will love the way Jimmy Butler thinks. After all, all the bad things people say about them can’t keep them from doing what they need to do. Luckily, it’s clear that the team thinks the same way as their boss.
This way of thinking is a big reason why the Heat made it to the East Finals and now have a lead over their foes, the Celtics. They never go too high or too low and just trust each other and themselves.
With how Miami is playing right now, it will be hard for the Celtics to beat them in their game.
