DORAL, Florida — Here’s what you missed from the semifinals of the 2023 LIV Golf Team Championship on Saturday if you were watching a lot of college football.
With a 7-and-6 win over Branden Grace of Stinger GC, Sebastian Munoz had the best round of the day and earned the first point. In the quarterfinals, Joaquin Niemann’s Torque GC beat Louis Oosthuizen’s Stinger 3-0 to secure the first of four top spots in Sunday’s final round.
Paul Casey of Crushers GC played similarly against Richard Bland of Cleeks GC, beating him 6–5 in a thrashing that helped Bryson DeChambeau’s Crushers move into the top four. The second deciding point came from DeChambeau’s win over Martin Kaymer in his captain’s match, 4 and 3.
Cameron Tringale walked Patrick Reed’s dog around the Blue Monster course for most of the round. After 15 holes, 4 and 3, Reed was let off the leash. The only win for HyFlyers GC came from Dustin Johnson’s 2-and-1 win over Phil Mickelson and Pat Perez/Peter Uihlein’s 4-and-3 win over James Piot/Brendan Steele. This meant that 4Aces GC would defend their 2022 title.

With a 2-and-1 win over Carlos Ortiz and Abraham Ancer, Harold Varner III and Thomas Pieters tied the game. The final point was scored when Talor Gooch beat Eugenio Chacarra 2–1. Gooch was the solo winner for the whole 2023 season, which earned the 30-year-old a $18 million bonus.
The final round is on Sunday at 1:05 p.m. ET and has 18 holes of shotgun start stroke play. All four scores count toward the team score. Four teams—4Aces GC, Crushers GC, RangeGoats GC, and Torque GC—won the playoff round on Saturday and will be fighting for the $14 million top prize.
The teams that lost on Saturday—Cleeks GC, Fireballs GC, HyFlyers GC, and Stinger GC—will play for spots 5–8. The teams that lost in the quarterfinals on Friday—Iron Heads GC, Majesticks GC, Ripper GC, and Smash GC—will play for spots 9–12. From 1 to 6 p.m. ET, you can watch on the CW or stream on the CW app or the LIV Golf app.
