After a bad season, there will be a lot of change at Anfield this summer.
Liverpool is likely to be very busy in the transfer market this summer as they look to replace a number of players who are leaving after a tough season.
Adrian, Naby Keita, Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain, James Milner, and Roberto Firmino all have contracts that expire at the end of the season. Arthur Melo is likely to return to Juventus after an injury-plagued loan spell.
Caoimhin Kelleher and Nathaniel Phillips have also been linked with a move away to get more playing time, and Joel Matip could be sold even though he only has one year left on his deal.
According to the Daily Mail, Brazilian Firmino has decided to join Barcelona when his contract is up. This will end his eight-year stay at Anfield, which has been very successful.
Jurgen Klopp wanted the 31-year-old to stay longer on Merseyside, but the outlet says Firmino has chosen to “move on to a new challenge.”
The scorer will miss Saturday’s Premier League game between Liverpool and Nottingham Forest because of a muscle injury. The injury could also keep him out of the games against West Ham United on Wednesday and Tottenham Hotspur the following weekend.
