According to Luka Doncic, if he ever goes back to Europe, it will be to Real Madrid. He said this before the Mavericks' practice game
Luka Doncic

The EuroLeague was where Luka Doncic was killing it before he became a big star in the NBA. Before being picked up by the Dallas Mavericks, he led Real Madrid to a EuroLeague title. The Dallas team is in Madrid right now getting ready for a practice game against a famous Spanish club. You may have heard that Doncic recently said that he might play in Madrid again.

The Mavs play Real Madrid on Tuesday. Doncic will be in the game. Before the game, Doncic made a joke about going back to Europe one day. Doncic might be able to play for Real Madrid again.

Doncic said, “If I go back to Europe one day, it will be to Real Madrid.”

Of course, it doesn’t look likely. There aren’t many big stars like Doncic who leave the NBA to play in Europe. His $215 million, five-year deal with Dallas still has four years to go. At the end of the deal, he will be 27 years old, which is still young.

Real Madrid is very wealthy when it comes to sports, so it would be hard for their basketball team to match Doncic’s NBA deal. He will probably also get paid more in his next job. It looks like he would only go back to Europe near the end of his career.

Doncic loves playing for Real Madrid. He became a big star as a young man by playing there. In 2018, he was named EuroLeague MVP. Besides the EuroLeague title in 2018, he also helped Madrid win three Spanish titles.

“Real Madrid is the reason I’m where I am now. This is where I learned how to talk, read, and play basketball. “I’d like to bring a lot of teammates with me, like Rudy, Llull, a coach, and a physio,” Luka Doncic said. “I’ve got a lot of great memories and I’m happy to be back.”

So far this season, Real Madrid hasn’t lost a game. They won their Super Cup and the first game of the EuroLeague. So far, they have also not lost in the Spanish league.

When Luka Doncic and the Dallas Mavericks play

The Mavericks, on the other hand, lost both of their warmup games to the Minnesota Timberwolves. Abu Dhabi was the site of both games. During his 18-minute games, Luka Doncic scored 21.5 points, 5 boards, 3.5 assists, and 1 steal per game.

After their games abroad, the Mavericks will fly back to the United States. Before the end of the season, they will play a game in Detroit against the Pistons. A lot of the Pistons’ young players can’t wait to show what they can do and get playing time in the preseason.

On October 25, Dallas plays its first game of the season. Luka Doncic and the Mavericks will play their rivals, the Spurs, at home. It will also be Victor Wembanyama’s first game in the NBA regular season.
