Andy Roddick thought it was funny that Iga Swiatek was becoming so popular that she was becoming like legendary tennis players like Justine Henin and Maria Sharapova.

Swiatek has won four Grand Slam titles already, including three at Roland Garros and one at the US Open. She has also been No. 1 in the WTA Rankings 95 times, which means she was in 10th place most of the time she was at the top.

The Pole has won a total of 19 WTA singles titles. Her most recent win was at the Indian Wells Open, where she beat Maria Sakkari in the final to claim her second trophy at the WTA 1000 event.

Next up is the Miami Open. The last time Swiatek won the Indian Wells trophy, she also won the Florida title in 2022 to complete the Sunshine Double.

After beating Daniil Medvedev in the men’s final at Indian Wells, Carlos Alcaraz also wants to complete the double on the ATP tour.

When asked by Tennis Channel who has the best chance to complete the Sunshine Double, Roddick, who used to be world No. 1, said, “Probably Iga at this point. She has just been more bankable over the course of her career.”Iga’s success is almost being sold short right now, even though everyone knows how good she is. 19 title wins, four Slams, and eight Masters 1000s. She is getting close to the rare age of Henin, Sharapova, Lindsay Davenport, and Kim Clijsters. She is 22 years old and right there with them.

“She’s a bad woman, she can play.”

Henin won seven Grand Slams and was No. 1 for 117 weeks. Sharapova won five majors and was No. 1 for 21 weeks. Clijsters won four Slams and was No. 1 for 20 weeks. Davenport won three majors and was No. 1 for 98 weeks.

Monica Puig, a tennis commentator and past Olympic champion, also gave Swiatek high marks. She thinks that the Pole will become one of the all-time greats if she keeps up her current level of play.

The Puerto Rican said, “The way she moves and hits the ball, she is a force to be reckoned with, and her mind is so tough.”

“There are times when she looks like she might wobble or waver for a few minutes, but then she just gets back into her groove and finishes the job.”If she keeps doing what she’s been doing, she will definitely go down in history as one of the best people ever. Iga has been mean to me, and it’s not fun.
