Chris Evert, who has won 18 Grand Slam titles, says she has “never seen anyone” like Novak Djokovic. Evert was at the French Open on Sunday when Djokovic won his record-setting 23rd Grand Slam title. Djokovic, who turned 36 last month, is now the first player in history to hold the all-time Grand Slam record.
“I’ve seen and studied every tennis winner in the last 50 years. I have never seen anyone like Novak Djokovic. Every shot requires a level of mental, physical, and emotional strength that can’t be beat.”It’s time to really love this man,” Evert wrote on Twitter.
Evert gives Djokovic the highest praise possible.
Some people think that now that Djokovic has won the most Grand Slam titles in tennis history, there shouldn’t be any question about who is the best player ever.
But when Djokovic was directly asked if he was the best player ever, he refused to answer that way. “I don’t want to stated that I’m the best because I think it’s disrespectful to all the wonderful winners from different times when our sport was played very differently than it is now. So I do not talk about who is-the-best; I let someone else do that. Djokovic stated, “I have a lot of faith in myself and a lot of confidence in myself, and a lot of belief in who I am and what I can do.”
Rafael Nadal sent Djokovic a message of congratulations right after Djokovic passed him on the list of people with the most Grand Slam wins. “Many congratulations to @DjokerNole on this great accomplishment. Just a few years ago, it was impossible to think about the number 23, but you did it!Have fun with your family and friends!” Nadal sent a tweet. Djokovic will play again at Wimbledon, where he will try to win his 24th Grand Slam tournament.
