Rep. Jason Crow (D-CO) told Republican Party members on MSNBC’s “The Alex Witt Show” to calm down about rumors that Manhattan District Attorney Alvin Bragg is about to indict Donald Trump.
In response to the many Republicans who have criticized the Manhattan DA on social media and cable news shows because the former president said early Saturday morning that he will be “arrested” on Tuesday without giving any proof, Crow said that everyone needs to wait and see if it happens and what the charges might be.
“Enough is enough,” he told the host when asked about the angry insults coming from Trump’s supporters.
“I was one of the impeachment managers in the first impeachment case a few years ago, and most Republicans walked away from the Jan. 6 committee and turned their backs on that responsibility after Jan. 6,” he told the host. “It’s not a new thing. This has been happening for a long time.”
“Now, I think a lot of people are trying to push back against that, to make some space, turn the page on our democracy, and move on with us,” he said. “Don’t we need more of them? Listen, I’ll say this, and I know a lot of people don’t want to hear it from me, but they do want to hear it from Republicans, conservatives, and others who have a responsibility right now to step up and say, “Enough is enough.””
“No one has seen this indictment, and nobody even knows that there will be one or what it says,” he said. “Any claims that this is about politics are too early and are themselves political.”
