From 2024 to 2025, the Roshn Saudi League will have new rules that will bring about some interesting changes. The Saudi Football Federation announced today that they want to let in more foreign players. This is a big deal that will make things even more difficult for European teams. The number of spots in each club’s squad set aside for non-Saudi players will rise from eight to ten. This will give the big Saudi teams more options when it comes to transfers. European teams are on high alert because of the move.
Player from Europe is being enticed to go to Saudi Arabia
There is now a new margin that lets Saudi teams sign more players, especially big-name stars, which will make the Saudi league even stronger. A statement released today says that the Saudi Football Federation and the Saudi Professional League have decided to change the number of players registered in the first teams of Saudi Professional League clubs from 20 to 25. This is to allow each club to register 10 non-Saudi players, with eight playing in each game, beginning with the 2024–25 football season.
Since the federation made its move, the big clubs have been more motivated to sign top foreign stars. Both Al-Hilal and Al-Nassr saw the change coming last summer, but they couldn’t act right away because of the present limit on foreign players. Neymar, Malcom, Bono, Mitrovic, Neves, Milinkovic-Savic, and Koulibaly are the seven foreign players that Al-Hilal signed. In the meantime, Otávio, Mané, Laporte, Seko Fofana, Brozovic, and Telles joined Cristiano Ronaldo’s team to make it stronger.
