The ways that the USWNT and Brazil got to the final

In the quarterfinals, the USWNT beat Canada on penalties, which let them sneak into the championship game. For the Stars and Stripes, Jaedyn Shaw and Sophia Smith scored twice to put them ahead. But Jordyn Huitema and Adriana Leon tied the game late in extra time. Alyssa Naeher, the custodian, saved three penalty kicks to send her team to the final.

In the last four, Brazil had a lot less trouble than they did against Mexico. Goals from Adriana Leal da Silva, Antonia, and Yasmim Assis Ribeiro gave Brazil an easy 3-0 win.
