There are now more chances for women to play golf in college.
Monday, Philadelphia’s Saint Joseph’s University stated that women’s golf would now be a major sport for the Hawks. The team will start participating in the fall of 2024.
VCU Vice President and Director of Athletics Jill Bodensteiner wrote on the school’s website, “We are very excited to announce the addition of women’s golf, which is one of the most popular sports for high school girls and college women.” “More people have asked me about starting a women’s golf program than about any other sport while I’ve been at Hawk Hill.” I’m happy to offer more ways for female student players to get a Jesuit education at this great school.
The search for a new head coach at Saint Joseph’s will begin soon, and the women’s team will need to be put in a conference. In all of its other sports, St. Joe’s plays in the Atlantic 10.
