Right after each other! With a sweep of No. 1 Nebraska on Sunday, Texas won its second straight NCAA volleyball title. There were 19,727 people at Amalie Arena to watch Texas win their fourth national title, which was an NCAA indoor arena record.

The Longhorns gave off gas. After barely beating the Huskers in the first set, they crushed them in the next two sets to win 25-22, 25-14, and 25-11. The trouble began at the service queue, where they had a championship-high 12 aces that kept Nebraska from getting in sync and on track. During the whole match, the Huskers hit.013 percent, with Harper Murray having the most kills with seven.

Once more, it was the Madi Skinner show. The Most Valuable Player of the Tournament led her team to its second national title with 16 kills. It’s the senior’s third title. He won it all with Kentucky in 2020, when they beat Texas in the final. Asjia O’Neal, a sixth-year player and Longhorns star, gave the team a team-high five aces, one of which won the game.

Even though the Longhorns were the reigning champions, this game didn’t see them as the favourite. After a 5-3 start, they lost their first game of the season. This won them the second seed in the tournament.

The Huskers, on the other hand, had only lost one game all season, and that was to Wisconsin, the team that Texas beat in the playoffs. In the final game, their youth showed as they made mistakes and didn’t talk to each other clearly. They won’t have any seniors this year, so all that means is they’ll be back and better next year.

The Huskers call a break at 5:01 p.m., when they are down 21–11.
4.58 p.m.: Sneaky Swindle kills the setter dump. Texas is only five points away from winning the national title.
4:56 p.m.: O’Neal’s slide throw gives Texas a 5-0 run! With a nine-point deficit, Nebraska calls a break. The Huskers are losing in almost every way, so things don’t look good for them.
4:51 p.m.: Texas is the first team to 15 points! After five seconds, a block puts it up by five. A yellow card is given to O’Neal for making fun of Ally Batenhorst through the net after the block.
4:46 p.m.: Murray made a great save! It’s not enough for her to jump over the scorer’s table and keep the ball in play. It’s popped back over for a kill by Bella Bergmark.
4:40 p.m.: Nebraska needs to win this set. If not, Texas wins the title again.

4:23 p.m.: Ella Swindle makes a mistake that stops Texas’s 11-0 run. In the second, Nebraska is already 18–11 down.
