At least that’s what Jon Rahm wants.
In the last round of the LIV Golf Invitational – Las Vegas on Saturday, Rahm’s caddy, Adam Hayes, told fans on the 12th tee box to be quiet.
In a strange way, LIV Golf takes pride in being noisier than regular golf games. LIV golf events have loud fans, parties, and music that you might hear in a Las Vegas club.
Interestingly, many LIV Golf events are a lot like this week’s WM Phoenix Open, where alcohol sales were stopped because of the loud environment.
Rahm seemed bothered by the noise on the 12th tee at the Las Vegas Country Club on Saturday, though. A video shared by @TourPicks on X sports shows this:
When Hayes told everyone to be quiet, Rahm calmed down, chose a 5-iron, and then looked back at the crowd. In this way, he asked fans to put away their cell phones, which made Rahm look angry.
He must have been moved by the show.
Rahm’s tee shot on the par-3 hole went into the bunker next to the green, just short and to the right of the hole. In the end, he made enough putts to save par, which kept him at 10 under. But Rahm lost his way in the last few holes, as he failed to make another birdie in those six holes.
Rahm instead made bogeys on the 15th and 18th holes, which dropped him to 8-under for the event. He shot a 71, which was his first round over par in LIV Golf.
Dustin Johnson beat Taylor Gooch by one shot to win the event with a score of 12 under. It was Johnson’s third LIV Golf event win of the season.
