Juventus Eyes Pogba's Successor The 3-Man Transfer Shortlist
Talk about transfers: Juventus has set a three-man list to replace Paul Pogba.

Most of Europe’s summer transfer window is now closed, but there are still deals being worked on and a lot of rumors going around. Transfer Talk keeps you up to date on all the latest rumors, deals that have already been made, and players who are coming or going.

The main story is: Three names stand out as Juve’s top choices to replace Pogba.

Several choices are being looked at by Juventus in order to find a replacement for midfielder Paul Pogba in January, according to Gazzetta dello Sport.

The Bianconeri are interested in Youssouf Fofana, a playmaker for Monaco. Fofana is starting to make a name for himself in Ligue 1, and is a France international. He has played 11 times for his country since his start in September of last year, and an offer of around €20 million is thought to be enough to get him.

They are also interested in Khephren Thuram, a defender for Nice. Juventus is said to have been interested in him in August, but a deal fell through because the Ligue 1 club wanted around €50 million to get rid of the 22-year-old.

Due to Thuram’s high number, Kouadio Kone, 22, could be an option if Nice doesn’t want to drop their summer value. Kone joined Borussia Monchengladbach in 2021 and has played in almost 60 games since then.

Pogba is currently on a temporary suspension because of a doping probe. His backup sample also tested positive for testosterone, which means that he failed a doping test before. Pogba moved from Manchester United to Juventus a little more than a year ago. If he is found guilty in the case, he could be banned for up to four years.

PAPER GOSSIP

According to Calciomercato, Chelsea has not changed their mind about wanting to get rid of back Trevoh Chalobah in January. It is thought that manager Mauricio Pochettino doesn’t see a way for him to start ahead of other players in his place in the senior team. They have told the 24-year-old that they will try to get rid of him when the transfer market opens in January.

Sport says that Real Madrid will start looking for a new center back because Nacho Fernandez is likely to leave the club next summer. It is said that Real Madrid is looking for a player to replace him. At first, they are focusing on finding a left-footed defender. It is also thought that manager Carlo Ancelotti is looking for wingers.

Football Insider says that Sporting Lisbon is getting used to the idea of losing center back Goncalo Inacio. According to reports, Liverpool and Manchester United are the two teams most interested in the 22-year-old. United has already made plans to make a move for him when the January transfer market starts. Inacio has been great for Portugal recently at the international level. He scored twice in last month’s 9-0 win over Luxembourg, which was a big win.

Teamtalk reports that Premier League teams will keep a close eye on Borussia Dortmund winger Jamie Bynoe-Gittens even though he signed a new deal. The England youth player, who is 19 years old, signed a contract with Borussia Dortmund until 2028 earlier this week. However, Arsenal, Chelsea, and Newcastle are still likely to be interested in signing him.

News from the Evening Standard says that Brentford wants to sign Southampton striking midfielder Carlos Alcaraz in January. The 20-year-old signed a new contract deal with the Saints on Friday. The Bees are said to have been interested in him for a while, but they are also fighting with Crystal Palace for his signing.
