Lionel Messi wasn’t pleased by the Premier League teams that were behind schedule.
In 2022, KYLIAN MBAPPE couldn’t take his eyes off the Premier League relegation battle.
The star French player would often sit down and watch Everton as they tried to stay in the Premier League during the 2021/22 season.
Mbappe and Idrissa Gana Gueye, who was on the PSG team at the time, would watch. Gana Gueye never lost his love for Everton even after moving to Paris in 2019.
Now that he is back in the blue part of Merseyside, Gueye said that he and Mbappe used to keep a close eye on Everton when they played for the big French team PSG.
The 34-year-old also said that Julian Draxler often watched Everton games with him but didn’t like the way they played.
Gueye shared with The Mirror: “It was difficult in the last year, we keep supporting, we believed. “I remember [Julian] Draxler every time we lose, he would go ‘you see your team, they are not good!’”I would say, “We will survive.” The day we did, against Crystal Palace, he told me, “You were lucky,” and I told him, “I told you.”He didn’t listen when I told him to come to Everton!
“Yes, Mbappe would watch. He liked to see all the games.”
Most of the time, Gueye would watch the games on his phone in the team hotel before Parisiens games.
Even though the Senegalese player was able to keep Mbappe interested in the game, Lionel Messi wasn’t impressed with how the Toffees played.
“[Lionel] Messi, no,” Gueye said. When we were losing, he would say, “Bro, come on, you see your team is losing and playing like this?’ It was hard for me, but it was funny.”
Mbappe may have been interested in Everton because he loves the Premier League. The World Cup winner is said to be open to moving to the English top flight.
Arsenal and Liverpool have both been linked with a move for the 25-year-old, but Real Madrid is now more likely to get him.
Even so, Mikel Arteta, the manager of Arsenal, has made sure that his team is in the running to sign the star player who has chosen to leave PSG at the end of the season.
When there is a player that good, he said, “We have to be in the conversation all the time.” But, as you said, it looks different. That’s what I’ll say.”
