The 2024 MLS season is very exciting, especially since it will be Lionel Messi’s first full year with Inter Miami. Besides that, Luis Suárez, who used to play for Barcelona with the Argentina captain, will join him in Florida to try to lead The Herons to their first MLS Cup.
When does the 2024 MLS season begin?
The MLS schedule for next year was just released. David Beckham’s team’s first game will be at home on February 21 against Real Salt Lake at DRV PNK Stadium. Their first away game will be on February 26 at LA Galaxy.
In 2024, Inter Miami will play 17 games away from home. This will give US fans who live outside of Miami a chance to see the eight-time Ballon d’Or winner in person. Since you are 36 years old, you might not get many more chances. In fact, the league has made something like a “Messi map” for the next season.
Messi will not be able to play in any International Miami away games.
Messi is only likely to play in 13 of Inter Miami’s 17 games away from DRV PNK Stadium. This is because four of those games are scheduled at the same time as the 2024 Copa América, in which he is expected to play.
The game against the Philadelphia Union at Subaru Park is on June 16, four days before the event starts. Messi should have already joined up with Argentina by then. The team has away games against Nashville SC, Charlotte FC, and FC Cincinnati planned for while the Copa América is going on.
