Lionel Messi is quickly running out of time to get more people to sign up for Apple’s MLS Season Pass. Because he is so unpredictable, the Argentine will have to go to training camp right before the Copa America and two games in the US to make sure he is fit for the national team. Messi’s first goal will be to beat Argentina after a run of Inter Miami games from the middle of April to the end of May.

China and Argentina will play the first game of the Copa America on June 20. The match is set to happen on July 14 if Argentina makes it to the final in Miami. If Messi helps Argentina get to the final, he might decide to miss Inter Miami’s home games on July 17 and 20. Inter Miami’s first Leagues Cup 2024 game is coming up soon, on July 27. Fans can watch the game live on MLS Season Pass.

From now until the end of May, Apple and MLS will depend on Messi to get more people to sign up. He should come back at the end of July, MLS Season Pass.

One surprise is that Messi is allegedly thinking about playing for Argentina in the next Olympics in the hopes of winning gold. Messi will miss most of the League Cup if he goes, which runs from July 26 to August 11. The Leagues Cup for this year will end on August 25, 2024.

Because he is getting so much attention around the world, Lionel Messi might not be able to play for MLS Season Pass as much as he did last season.

Not yet reached milestone

In Major League Soccer, everyone will be looking at one important number. The league still hasn’t reached the number of subscribers that Apple had hoped for. After getting $250 million from Apple every season, Major League Soccer needs to reach a certain number of subscribers before it can start making money from payments. The public doesn’t have access to that number because Apple carefully guards information about subscribers and watchers.

If that magic number of subscribers is reached, MLS will get fifty cents for every MLS Season Pass subscription that is sold. The league can put these funds back into the fund and use them for different projects. One thing MLS could do is sign more celebrities to add to its team.

Don Garber, the commissioner of Major League Soccer, said he was sure that MLS Season Pass would hit the revenue-sharing level by December 2023.
“The most different thing about it is that it’s a partnership.” Apple promises to give us at least fifty cents for every dollar we make. That’s the deal’s risk. I’m very, very sure we’ll talk about that income share.

Is Messi the MLS Season Pass’s only saviour?

There are reports that two million people have signed up for MLS Season Pass. That is still less than the number of subscribers needed to start sharing income. Apple and MLS haven’t said anything about the milestone limit. Some of them still haven’t paid for the MLS Season Pass either. For example, people with season tickets get the item for free this way. With Messi’s arrival in the summer of 2023, MLS Season Pass quickly grew as well. MLS needs to act quickly because the Argentine has one more year left on his contract after the 2024 season.
