Lionel Messi praised Jordi Alba after it was reported that the left back will leave Barcelona at the end of the season.

Alba has decided to get out of his contract at the Camp Nou. He will say goodbye to Barcelona along with the team’s captain, Sergio Busquets, who has had a great career with the Catalans.

Messi wrote a message on social media for Alba, with whom he had a great friendship on and off the pitch when they both played for Barcelona.

Here’s what the GOATs had to say: “You were more than a friend, a true teammate on the field.. And how nice it is that we also get along so well with each other. “You already know that I always wish you and your family the best. May your new stage bring you and your family many more wins and joys. A Big Hug!”

There had been talk that Alba could play in Saudi Arabia with Messi and Busquets next season. A move like this doesn’t seem likely, but it’s still not clear where any of the three will be playing football next season.
