COLUMBUS — Landers Nolley II and Trevon Scott were two of the best men’s basketball players at Cincinnati. On Friday, they will start their NBA 2K24 Summer League seasons with the New Orleans Pelicans and Charlotte Hornets, respectively.

All 30 NBA teams will play at least five games each in the 18th NBA Summer League in Las Vegas.  Between July 7 and 14, each team will play four games.  After each team plays four games, the top four teams will move on to the playoffs and play in the semifinals on Sunday, July 16 (4 p.m. ET on ESPN and 6 p.m. ET on ESPN2).  The championship game will be played on Monday, July 17 at 9 p.m. ET on ESPN. The game will be between the two teams that won their quarterfinal games.

The 11-day tournament’s 76 games will all be broadcast live on ESPN Networks, NBA TV, or the ESPN or NBA apps.

Nolley was named to the First Team All-AAC last year, which was his only year at UC. He averaged 16.8 points per game, which was eighth in the league and the most by a Bearcat since Jarron Cumberland in 2018-19. He also pulled down 5.8 boards per game, which was the second most on the team. He also had the most minutes (32.1), made the most field goals (44.7%), made the most three-pointers (41.7%), had the most assists (94), stole the most balls (36), and blocked the most shots (17). All of them were big steps up from his year at Memphis in 2021–2022.

In May, Scott committed to playing with the Calgary Surge of the Canadian Elite Basketball League. In 2021-22, he played two games for the Cleveland Cavaliers. He played at UC from 2015 to 2020. As a senior, he was the first UC player since Dwight Jones in 1982-1983 to average a double-double, with 11.4 points and 10.5 rebounds per game. He was also the AAC’s Defensive Player of the Year and the winner of the Sportsmanship Award, among many other honors.
