Forbes said Wednesday that Los Angeles FC, the Los Angeles Galaxy, and Atlanta United are three of the 20 most expensive football teams in the world.
At $1 billion, LAFC is the 17th most expensive team, while the Galaxy and Atlanta are 18th and 19th. Atlanta is worth $850 million and the Galaxy are worth $925 million.
Real Madrid of Spain’s La Liga is worth $6.07 billion, making it the most expensive team on Forbes’ list. The second-place team is Manchester United of the English Premier League, with a value of $6 billion. The third-place team is Barcelona of the Spanish La Liga, with a value of $5.51 billion.
LAFC makes the most money ($116 million) out of the three MLS teams in the top 20, while the Galaxy makes the least ($4 million). Atlanta makes 81 million dollars in income and costs 6 million dollars to run.
LAFC (7-1-4, 25 points) is in third place in the Western Conference, while the Galaxy (2-9-3, 9 points) is in 14th place and has the fewest points in the league. Atlanta is fifth in the Eastern Conference with 6-5-5 and 23 points.
Forbes made a list of the 30 most expensive teams, which included New York City FC, D.C. United, Toronto FC, and Austin FC.
