A new quarterback is signed by the Seattle Seahawks.
The Seattle Seahawks went into the offseason trying to figure out who would be their quarterback for next season. Geno Smith had a comeback season for the Seahawks in 2022. After Russell Wilson was traded, he led the team to the playoffs.
But it wasn’t clear if the Seahawks would try to pick a quarterback in the draft. Smith was able to sign a deal with the Seahawks that will keep him in Seattle. Now, the Seahawks have kept on Smith’s backup for next season.
NFL Network reporter Mike Garafolo says that the Seahawks have agreed to sign Drew Lock for one season. The base salary in his contract is $4 million. But with incentives, that number can go up to $7.5 million.
Lock was a second-round pick for the Denver Broncos, but he was traded to the Seattle Seahawks when they got Russell Wilson. Last season, Lock did not have any stats for the Seahawks.
