In the first round of The Memorial Tournament at Muirfield Village Golf Club in Dublin, Ohio, Shane Lowry shot a 3-under 69. After the first six holes, he was 5 under, but then he quickly lost his cool.

According to the PGA Tour, he started with a par on the 10th and then made five straight birdies, including a 36-footer on the par-3 12th. The PGA Tour wrote about how well he had been doing, and Lowry replied.

Lowry retweeted, “And then I woke up,” and then added a few laughing emojis.

Over the next four holes, Lowry would make three bogeys, but he would finish strong.

After his last birdie, Lowry made six pars in a row to finish the round at 3-under. At a track like Muirfield, a score of 69 isn’t too bad. He is tied for third with a lot of other players. Davis Riley, who is alone at the top, is two shots ahead of him.

But seeing guys like Lowry go online after their round and make fun of themselves makes them even more likeable.

“I made a few nice putts early on. Lowry told the media after his first round, “You can’t keep doing that all day.” “I messed up a few times… I probably didn’t try hard enough on hole 16, so I got a birdie. After that, he missed a few shots. If you hit bad shots on this course, you’re going to get bogeys… Around here, 3 under is a pretty good score. I’m pretty happy with how things have gone so far.”

Lowry will play the first two days with Nick Hardy and Sungjae Im. The second round will start at 1:41 p.m. ET on Friday.
