In the Women’s World Amateur Team Championship, South Korea and Spain were tied going into the second round. Korea won the Espirito Santo Trophy for the fifth time at the end of the day.

A 5-under 139 was the second-lowest round of the day for Korea. They pulled ahead of the other teams to win the 2023 Women’s World Amateur Team Championship at Abu Dhabi Golf Club on Saturday. Korea won the tournament with a score of 22-under 554, four shots better than Chinese Taipei and five shots ahead of Spain, which shot even par in the last round.

The US tied with Australia at 15 under after the low round of the last round, which was 8-under 136. Anna Davis, who is going to Auburn, won the 2022 Augusta National Women’s Amateur and shot 6 under for the tournament. Megan Schofill, who won the U.S. Women’s Amateur title in 2023, and Rachel Kuehn both earned 4 under.

Cindy Hsu, a sophomore at Texas from Chinese Taipei, shot 13-under 275 to win the individual event. The freshman at Texas A&M and No. 2 in the World Amateur Golf Ranking, Cayetana Fernandez Garcia-Poggio, came in second. She beat her by two shots.

Kyorim Seo, who came in third with 10 under, was Korea’s best finisher.

Two or three golfers from 36 countries compete in the WATC every other year. They play four days of stroke play, with the two lowest scores from each day being counted.
