Some of the most popular football clothes in the world from the previous season have well-known brands on them. Fans are always looking for the newest clothes that their favourite players wear because so many top players are moving around. Case in point: Lionel Messi joined Inter Miami in Major League Soccer. Before that, when he joined Al-Nassr, Cristiano Ronaldo was the first player to move to Saudi Arabia.
But there are still some very good clubs in Europe that stand out from the rest. Millions of people from all over the world want to get their hands on teams’ new kits because the top European leagues are known all over the world. This is why teams put out new shirts every season, even if the changes are small.
A study found that the Winter World Cup made injuries worse in Europe’s top teams.
English, Spanish, German, and French teams all made it into the top eight clubs whose clothes sell the most around the world. It is important to note that this does not say which shirt is the home or away strip or which player is on the back of it. The amount of shirts a club sold during the 2022–23 season is what it really is.
The information on how many shirts teams from around the world sold was put together by Dr. Peter Rohlmann of PR Marketing. The list starts with the biggest clubs.
The football shirts that sold the most for each club in 2022–23
These are not the official numbers that teams are giving out about how many shirts they sold last season. That being said, the data does show which clubs people want to go to the most.
- Liverpool — 1,800,000
- Manchester United — 1,750,000
- Real Madrid — 1,700,000
- Barcelona — 1,600,000
- Bayern Munich — 1,350,000
- Manchester City — 1,290,000
- PSG — 1,100,000
- Arsenal — 850,000
This league puts a lot of weight on the Premier League, since half of the top eight teams are from that league. Those are the top two teams, Liverpool and Manchester United. The two red foes have some of the biggest fan bases in the world. United, on the other hand, might see this as a loss since it thinks it is the world’s most famous club. This number would also make Adidas mad, since they just signed a 10-year, record-breaking deal with United that is worth more than $1 billion.

But four of the top eight teams do get their uniforms from Adidas. NFL teams like United, Real Madrid, Bayern Munich, and Arsenal all wear Adidas. Nike is the team that supplies Liverpool, Barcelona, and PSG. So Manchester City is the one that stands out. The company that makes it is Puma, which only makes kits for a few teams in each league. Fans wanted to buy kits because they wanted to be a part of Manchester City’s success.
Again, the Premier League is in charge.
It’s also not exactly a surprise to see four teams from the Premier League. More people come to the league because it has a lot of well-known teams. Also, clubs like Manchester City, Chelsea, and Liverpool’s success in Europe over the last five years has made the elite clubs even more famous.
It will be interesting to see if Manchester City can move up in these lists, though. They won everything and had five players in the top nine of the Ballon d’Or vote. Fans want to see their team do well, and City can seize the chance.
