This weekend, The Honda Classic was held on the PGA Tour in Palm Beach Gardens, Florida. One golfer’s extreme effort to hit a shot have caught the attention of the golf world.

Golfer Akshay Bhatia has played quite well in his second event of the PGA Tour season, making the cut and playing onto the weekend. But two shots he made on Saturday in particular have made him decide to try his shots shirtless, which is a big step.

The first time he played without a shirt was on the sixth hole, when his approach shot landed on the edge of the water hazard line. Instead of taking an unplayable, he decided to hit the shot instead and get his pants dirty in the process.

Luckily, he was prepared for the treacherous conditions of Florida golf, with his girlfriend in attendance having a backup set of clothes for him to change into after playing the hole.

It turned out to be a great idea to try to hit the shot rather than take a penalty stroke. On hole six, he saved par by some miracle.

But that wasn’t the end of his muddy Saturday adventures. On hole 15, he hit another bad shot that put him in a mud pit. He again opted to hit the shot without his shirt on, this time with far less success, finishing the hole with a double bogey.

It was an interesting day to say the least for Bhatia, and many took to social media to discuss the wild shirtless golfer.

While it wasn’t a great round for Akshay Bhatia in terms of his score, it will certainly be a round that he will never forget.
