There was a controversial missed call or lack of a call during the AFC championship game between the Kansas City Chiefs and the Cincinnati Bengals.
Gene Steratore, a long-time NFL referee, said that there was a missed holding call late in the game. Steratore said on the Maggie and Perloff show, “I saw a limit on one of the interior linemen.”
“So technically, yes, you have changed that play at that point because you’re putting limits on someone outside of their body,” Steratore said. “So when they look at that, they’ll say, “Yep, that’s holding.”
Bengals fans didn’t take the news very well, as you might expect.
“So there you go. The NFL says they missed the holding call that gave the win to Kansas City. Two years in a row, Cincinnati was given or missed penalties that ended games, and all we hear is, “Yeah, we missed it, sorry!” “one fan said.
“This doesn’t mean anything though. The game was changed by it. The block in the back on the punt return was the worst. Question him about that, “said another fan.
“It’s pretty obvious,” said a third person.
