At first base, there aren’t too many accidents, which is definitely a good thing.
Today in Minnesota, there was a scary one between Royce Lewis of the Twins and Gabriel Arias of the Cleveland Guardians. Lewis, who just got back from having his ACL torn last week, got hurt the most.
The young infielder hit a ground ball deep to third base and ran right away to try to get an infield single. Arias was pulled to the back side of the first base bag by the throw, and since the utility player had the wrong foot on the base, he was right in Lewis’s way as he ran.
Lewis tripped over Arias and fell backwards baseball player, falling on his head or face.

Things could have gone wrong. After a few moments on the ground, Lewis was able to get up and walk off the pitch on his own.
After the game, which the Guardians won 2-1, Twins manager Rocco Baldelli baseball player said that his 23-year-old shortstop dodged a concussion and any other major injury, which is a good sign.
