The Longhorns beat Houston on Saturday, but quarterback Quinn Ewers hurt his shoulder during the game. It sounds like the healing could take more than a week, which is bad.
Emers has a sprained AC joint. It’s not likely to end the season, but it could keep him out for a few weeks.
Texas has two quarterbacks to choose from if Ewers isn’t available: Malik Murphy and Arch Manning.
Fans have one message for Steve Sarkisian and the Longhorns, of course: Let Arch Manning go.
“Gentlemen and Ladies: We are now in the Maalik Murphy and Arch Manning age at Texas. Gas for all. “No Brakes,” wrote one fan.
“I can smell the Arch Manning era,” a fan said.
“Arch man time??” asked a fan.
“Let’s see how good Arch Manning is,” said a fan.
“In which half of the K-State game do people start asking for Arch Manning over Murphy,” someone asked.
Texas will eventually choose Arch Manning as their quarterback. With so much on the line, that doesn’t seem likely at this point in the season.
That being said, Steve Sarkisian will have a lot to think about if Murphy starts and has a bad game.
After Texas beat Houston, Sarkisian said of Murphy and Manning, “Both of those guys have really put in a lot of work to play good football for us.”
