Scottie Scheffler was in first place at the end of Day 1 of The Sentry. His score of 9-under-64 put him in first place after 36 holes at the Kapalua Resort’s Plantation Course in Kapalua, Hawaii. He is the two-time PGA Tour Player of the Year. Scheffler beat golfers like Tyrrell Hatton, Sungjae Im, and Brendon Todd by shooting a total of 16-under 130. This is the first time he has ever shot 16-under par in two rounds.

The 27-year-old had a great round that included a 25-foot eagle putt at the fifth hole. The Hero World Challenge was impressive, and Hatton shot an 11-under 62 to move up to second place on the rankings. Collin Morikawa was in first place after Round 1, and then Chris Kirk, Viktor Hovland, and Byeong Hun An came in next. The best they could do was T5, two shots behind.

Round 3 will begin at 12:57 p.m. ET on Saturday, January 6. The players will be back on the course.

At 12:57 p.m. ET, Si Woo Kim, J.T. Poston, and Tom Hoge will be the first golfers to hit the ball on Day 3 of The Sentry 2024. The match between Camilo Villegas, Eric Cole, and Taylor Moore will come next at 1:09 pm. Scottie Scheffler, the leader, will tee off late, at 2:45 pm. Corey Todd and Tyrrell Hatton will also be there.

Those who don’t know, The Sentry 2024 is the first event on the PGA Tour in 2024. The main event has 59 of the best golfers in the world, including the top 50 FedEx Cup players and winners of events on the 2023 Tour. There is a $20 million prize pool and 700 FedEx Cup points up for grabs. The players are competing for the first prize of $3.6 million and those points.
