The 152nd Open Championship will be held at Royal Troon next year. Dean Burmester, Darren Fichardt, and Dan Bradbury have all qualified through the Joburg Open, which was the first event in the Open Qualifying Series.
The series is co-sanctioned by the DP World Tour and the Sunshine Tour, and it gives players from all over the world a chance to compete for one of the four men’s majors.
Burmester won by three shots at Houghton Golf Club in Johannesburg, South Africa, with a score of 18 under. He now plays in the LIV Golf League and came 14th last season. Next year, he will play in his third Open. Fichardt last made it to the Open when he won the Joburg Open at Royal Johannesburg and Kensington Golf Club in 2017. This year, he came in second with a score of 15 under after a final-round 64. Bradley, who is the defending winner, also shot 64 on Sunday, good enough for third place at 13 under.
Tiger Woods is getting better as he gets closer to playing professional golf again.
This week’s event is the ISPS Handa Australian Open, which takes place at The Lakes and The Australian in Sydney from November 30 to December 3. In this list, you can see the rest of the qualifying events and how many Open spots are open at each one.
