Tiger Woods was taken out of the Genesis Invitational and pulled out after an ambulance scare.

The par-4 7th hole on Friday marked the end of Tiger Woods‘ Genesis Invitational.

When Woods hit his drive into the fairway, he got into a cart with a rules official to show that he was dropping out of the game. Mark Dusbabek of the PGA Tour said that he was supposedly sick.

Even so, Woods looked uncomfortable on his first six holes, hobbling along and trying to keep going after his first birdie. He made bogeys on the 4th and 5th holes, which are both par-3s. On the last hole of the day, the beautiful par-3 sixth, he made a par putt.

Woods left the second round the day before because he hit a strange shank on the par-4 18th, which he said was caused by “back spasms.”

Woods hasn’t played in a 72-hole PGA Tour event since the Genesis Invitational last year, where he tied for 45th. He had to drop out of the Masters in 2023, which would have been his last PGA Tour event.

An ambulance and two fire trucks showed up in front of the clubhouse not long after Woods left on the cart. Fans were crowded into the clubhouse, which was a strange and scary sight.

Dozens of reporters, including Playing Through’s Senior Editor, gathered in hopes of catching a picture of Tiger leaving, possibly for the hospital.

It rolled out, though, without anyone on it. Woods is still inside, and there has been no official word on whether he hurt himself again or was just not feeling well.

Things are getting worse and will get worse soon.
