Charles Woods, who is fifteen years old, wants to get into the Cognizant Classic in The Palm Beaches, which is his first PGA Tour event. He wants to make a name for himself. His father, Tiger Woods, has won 82 times on the PGA Tour.
The Monday qualifier gives four spots to players who win those spots in the full-field game. There are, however, pre-qualifiers that guys must play in before Monday. These are usually held on Thursday and Friday before championship week.
The PGA Tour says Charlie will play on Thursday and try to make it past the first round and into the Monday group.

He is going to play golf at Hobe Sound, Florida’s Lost Lake Golf Club. It’s one of four places that qualifies.
At 7:39 a.m. ET, Woods, Olin Browne Jr., and Ruaidhri McGee will all start their rounds.
It takes place at PGA National’s Champion Course in Palm Beach Gardens, Florida, from February 29 to March 3.
There’s a lot of attention on Charlie right now, even though this is his first pre-qualifier.

For four years, he and his dad have played in the PNC Championship. Many people can tell the difference between Tiger and Charlie’s behaviour. They didn’t win PNC yet, but they came very close in 2021, coming in second.
Charlie’s high school golf team just won the state title. Also, Woods Jr. played in the Notah Begay III Junior Golf National Championship last autumn and tied for 17th place in his age group. During the whole four days of the event, Tiger was on his bag.
There will be a lot of attention on Woods in golf to see if we are seeing the passing of the torch.
