The water polo star Maggie Steffens’s sister-in-law died suddenly at the Paris Games. Maggie Steffens has won three gold medals at the Olympics.
After Steffens and Team USA beat Greece in Saturday’s opening game of the Olympics, Adam Krikorian, the coach of Team USA, announced that Lulu Conner had died. She was 26 years old. Public information about Conner’s death has not been made public, and claims that she died of an embolism have not been confirmed.
Robert Conner, her younger brother, married Steffens in the autumn of 2023.
Kris Krikorian told the San Francisco Chronicle on Saturday, “It’s been a shock for everyone.” “I’m not aware of the facts.” But this is a terrible time for Maggie, Bobby, and his family.
People saw Steffens throw flowers into the Seine from Team USA’s boat on Friday night during the opening parade. At the time, NBC’s program said that a family member of her husband had died, but they didn’t say anything else around that.Krikorian said, “From what I know, Lulu was full of energy and so excited to be here and watch this team.” To honour her, we can play with a lot of energy.
Krikorian went on, “It’s not something you’re ever ready for.” “Maggie knows my sadness and pain because I told her.” What stands out are the hurt and shocked feelings.
Lulu went to their wedding in San Juan, Puerto Rico, in November.
She wrote on Instagram after the wedding, “Grateful to have had the most joyous week celebrating these two salsa-dancin’ lovebirds!!” “A better brother or a cooler new sister would be great.”
On Saturday, Team USA beat Greece 15–6.
The team is also dealing with the death of Lulu and the ongoing cancer fight of Pat Woepse, who is married to Tokyo Games MVP Maddie Musselman.
