𝕭𝖊𝖋𝖔𝖗𝖊 𝕱𝖗𝖎𝖉𝖆𝖞’𝖘 𝖙𝖊𝖓𝖘𝖊 𝖒𝖊𝖊𝖙𝖎𝖓𝖌, both leaders were hoping to make progress on or even finalize a deal that would allow Ukraine to put money from its state-owned oil, gas, and mineral resources into a co-managed investment fund in exchange for continued U.S. support.

But things quickly turned ugly in the Oval Office in front of the news media. Trump and U.S. Vice President J.D. Vance, who was also there, yelled at Zelensky over and over again, with Vance calling the Ukrainian leader “𝐝𝐢𝐬𝐫𝐞𝐬𝐩𝐞𝐜𝐭𝐟𝐮𝐥” toward the U.S. When Zelensky tried to answer, the two U.S. leaders would often talk over him.

The tense meeting comes after weeks of bad ties between the two countries. In the three years since Russia’s full-scale invasion began, Washington had been a strong backer of Ukraine’s war effort. That changed when Trump took office again in January.

But relations between the U.S. and Ukraine have gotten worse as Trump has become closer to Russia. He has been repeating the Kremlin’s lines on Ukraine and seems to be offering Russian President Vladimir Putin big deals without involving Kyiv.

Following the end of the talks, Trump wrote on Truth Social that he and Zelensky had a “very meaningful meeting.” Emotions can say a lot. I’ve decided that 𝙋𝙧𝙚𝙨𝙞𝙙𝙚𝙣𝙩 𝙕𝙚𝙡𝙚𝙣𝙨𝙠𝙮𝙮 𝙞𝙨 𝙣𝙤𝙩 𝙧𝙚𝙖𝙙𝙮 𝙛𝙤𝙧 𝙥𝙚𝙖𝙘𝙚 if the United States is involved, because he thinks that our presence will give him a big edge in negotiations.

𝐓𝐫𝐮𝐦𝐩 𝐰𝐫𝐨𝐭𝐞, “𝐈 𝐝𝐨𝐧’𝐭 𝐰𝐚𝐧𝐭 𝐩𝐨𝐰𝐞𝐫; 𝐈 𝐰𝐚𝐧𝐭 𝐏𝐄𝐀𝐂𝐄.

【Ｚｅｌｅｎｓｋｙ】showed disrespect for the United States of America in the Oval Office,

𝗧𝗿𝘂𝗺𝗽 𝘀𝗮𝗶𝗱. “𝗛𝗲 𝗰𝗮𝗻 𝗰𝗼𝗺𝗲 𝗯𝗮𝗰𝗸 𝘄𝗵𝗲𝗻 𝗵𝗲’𝘀 𝗿𝗲𝗮𝗱𝘆 𝗳𝗼𝗿 𝗣𝗘𝗔𝗖𝗘.”

The argument between Trump, Zelensky, and Vance is written down below. It’s been cut down in length and readability.

𝘼𝙘𝙘𝙤𝙧𝙙𝙞𝙣𝙜 𝙩𝙤 𝙅.𝘿. 𝙑𝙖𝙣𝙘𝙚, the United States had a president for four (4) years who spoke out strongly against Vladimir Putin in public. However, Putin then attacked Ukraine and destroyed a large part of the country.

𝐈𝐭’𝐬 𝐩𝐨𝐬𝐬𝐢𝐛𝐥𝐞 𝐭𝐡𝐚𝐭 𝐝𝐢𝐩𝐥𝐨𝐦𝐚𝐜𝐲 𝐢𝐬 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐰𝐚𝐲 𝐭𝐨 𝐛𝐨𝐭𝐡 𝐩𝐞𝐚𝐜𝐞 𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐰𝐞𝐚𝐥𝐭𝐡. When we tried to act like Joe Biden, we pounded our chests and pretended that the president of the United States‘ words were more important than what he did.

Volodymyr Zelensky: In 2014, he 【[Ｐｕｔｉｎ]】 took over different parts of Ukraine. President Obama, then President Trump, then President Biden were in charge at that time. Now it’s President Trump, and he will stop Putin.

But in 2014, no one stopped him. He only stayed busy and took. He killed people.

From 2014 to 2022, things stayed the same: people died on the contact line, and no one did anything about it. We talked to him a lot, including a chat between both of us. When I became president in 2019, I made a peace deal with him, 𝙀𝙢𝙢𝙖𝙣𝙪𝙚𝙡 𝙈𝙖𝙘𝙧𝙤𝙣, 𝙖𝙣𝙙 𝘼𝙣𝙜𝙚𝙡𝙖 𝙈𝙚𝙧𝙠𝙚𝙡. They all told me he would never go.

He also signed a gas deal with us. But he broke the truce after all that. He killed our people and didn’t trade inmates.

We agreed to trade inmates, but he didn’t follow through. In what way do you mean by “̲d̲i̲p̲l̲o̲m̲a̲c̲y̲,̲”̲ J.D.?

What do you mean?

Vance: Listen up, this is the kind of diplomacy that will stop your country from falling apart. [𝗭𝗲𝗹𝗲𝗻𝘀𝗸𝘆 𝘀𝘁𝗮𝗿𝘁𝘀 𝘁𝗼 𝗮𝗻𝘀𝘄𝗲𝗿] With all due respect, Mr. President, I think it’s rude of you to come to the Oval Office and try to argue this in front of the American media.

Because you don’t have enough soldiers, you’re going around forcing people to join the front lines. You should thank the president for trying to end this war.

Zelensky: Have you ever been to Ukraine to see what we’re going through? Please wait a moment.

Vance: I’ve seen the videos and read the stories, so I know what happens: Mr. President, you take people on a publicity tour. Do you believe that you’ve had trouble getting people to join your military? Also, do you think it’s appropriate to go to the Oval Office of the United States of America and criticize the government that is working to keep your country from falling apart?

Zelensky: For starters, you and everyone else have problems during the war. Things are fine now that you have a nice ocean to look at. That being said, you will feel it soon.

Trump: We’ll feel great and strong. Right now, things are not going well for you. You’re in a very bad spot because you let yourself get there. We don’t have the cards with you right now. Vance: No, have you said thank you once in this whole meeting? In October, you went to Pennsylvania to work for the other side. Say something nice about the United States and the president who is trying to save her country.

Trump: He’s not talking a lot. Things are not going well for your country.

Zelensky: Yes, I do. May I ask…

Trump: No, you’ve already talked a lot. Things are not going well for your country.

Zelensky: Yes, I do.

Trump: You’re not going to win this. Because of us, you have a pretty good chance of being okay.

Zelensky: Okay, Mr. President. Our country is still strong. We’ve been by ourselves since the start of the war, and we’re glad. In this closet, I said “thank you.”

Trump: We gave you $350 billion through this stupid president. We gave you weapons for the troops. Even though your men are brave, they have used our combat gear. We would have won this war in two weeks if you didn’t have our military gear.

Trump said, “That wasn’t me.” That was with a dumb guy named Biden. That was with Obama, who gave you sheets. You were given javelins. You were given javelins to destroy all of those trucks. He gave you sheets. In fact, it says that Trump gave javelins and Obama gave sheets. You need to be more grateful because you don’t have the cards. You have the cards when we’re with you, but none when we’re not. It will be hard to make a deal because people need to change how they think.
