Once a swing that was perched on the edge of a perilous cliff gave way, two Russians came dangerously close to losing their lives. The two individuals were having fun on the swing that was suspended approximately 6,300 feet above the ground. The swing was hanging precariously from the edge of the cliff when one of its chains unexpectedly broke, causing it to fall to the ground with a crash.
The event, which took place in the Sulak Canyon in the Russian Republic of Dagestan, which is located on the western banks of the Caspian Sea, was captured on camera and occurred there.
As a result of the chains breaking, the swing swung to one side to an extreme degree. The women, who were not equipped with any kind of safety restraints, were sent careening down the vertical rock face. They were very fortunate in that rather than crashing on the ground several thousand feet below, they landed on a wooden platform which was only a few feet below the edge of the cliff.
After landing on the platform, the two women were left with various cuts, scrapes, and bruises. The victims’ loved ones and other witnesses acted fast to get them back to safety after they were left stunned.
According to a statement made to the newspaper Komsomolskaya Pravda by a reliable source, “the girls got afraid and sustained scratches, but neither of them suffered significant injuries.” “It gives me the shivers to think about what might have happened to them if they had fallen off the swings when they were at their highest point,”
Swings were deemed unsafe for use by the local authorities because they did not fulfill the required level of protection.
The Ministry of Tourism of Dagestan issued a statement in which they said, “As a consequence of this, the young women were thrown from the swing seat.” The statement continued by saying that “law enforcement agencies and other services are currently performing relevant checks to ensure that nothing threatens life and health.”
Now, the local police are looking into whether or not there are any additional swings like this one operating in the area, and some local councils are getting ready to ask for the permanent removal of dangerous amusement rides like this one, which frequently run without the appropriate safety training, equipment, or standards.
