Urban Meyer hasn’t been a college football coach in about five years.
But Meyer has been asked about returning to the sport ever since he left Ohio State. Meyer is the head coach of a team that has won three national titles.
There were reports earlier this month that Meyer might be interested in the job at Michigan State. That story was quickly put to rest, though.
Meyer talked about the chance of teaching college football again on Monday.
Meyer said Monday, “I am good,” according to Mike Wilson. “I didn’t really take a day off.” People scratch their heads when I say that. It seems like I never took a day off. I had some health problems. I got hooked on sleeping pills. I was just a crazy worker. So no. Not wanting it.”
You should never say never, but Meyer seems to be done teaching.
Of course, it’s also possible that most big schools would not want to hire Meyer. His time with the Jaguars was terrible.
Meyer stays involved with the sport because he writes about it for Fox Sports. It’s his job to work on FOX’s “Big Noon Kickoff” every Saturday morning.
