The release of the Team USA women’s basketball roster is coming up on June 1. Caitlin Clark’s chances of going to the Olympics are still unknown.
Jennifer Rizzoti, who is in charge of the U.S. selection group, said that how Clark starts her WNBA career will figure it out. Clark wasn’t able to go to the U.S. training camp in early April because it fell on the same week that Iowa played in the Final Four.
Rizzotti told The Associated Press on April 22 that “you always want to bring new players into the pool, whether it’s for now or in the future.” “Of course, we stick to our principles of talent, positional fit, loyalty, and experience.” It has to be a mix of a lot of different works. Some people will still not be treated fairly.
It’s not often that WNBA newbies make the Olympic team. Breanna Stewart, the first pick in the 2016 WNBA draft, was the last person to do it. She helped the U.S. win gold in Rio de Janeiro.

“Clearly Clark is a great player based on what she did in college. Now she’s taking it to the next level in the WNBA, and we’ll see how things go,” Stewart told Nhi Nguyen of The Los Angeles Times on April 17. “Of course, I want to play with the other players on this roster.” That will be something different, but I’m sure Caitlin has played for USA Basketball before, and I don’t think her time with the team will end any time soon.

Clark was the first player picked in this year’s draft, and her fame has only grown over the last two years as she has done well at Iowa and in the pros. She set the all-time NCAA scoring record and played very well on the court. This made women’s basketball more famous in both college and the WNBA.
U.S. swimmer Katie Ledecky, who won an Olympic gold prize, is already excited to meet Clark. It makes sense that athletes from all sports could meet at the Olympic Village during the Summer Games, which this year will be held in Paris.

Clark’s dream would come true if she made the Olympic team and could serve her country in Paris.
Clark told Jack Maloney of CBS Sports on March 29 that “you always want to grow up and be on the Olympic team.” “Everyone on that list is someone I look up to and have looked up to since I was a kid.” So even getting an invitation to camp is something to be proud of, enjoy, and praise.
