Would you like to go to the world of your favourite movie, TV show, or book?

You might want to live in a world that you’ve made all by yourself. When you change the way things are, you can enjoy both of those situations.
If you want to learn more about reality shifting, a fun and risky new trend on apps like TikTok and IG, you don’t have to look any further. Here, we’ll help you get to your favourite reality and tell you the best ways to shift.

Being in a quiet place helps you focus on shifting. Go to a place where you can be alone, like your bedroom. Close the door and turn on some music that makes you feel better and helps you think of new ideas.

• Get rid of distractions so you can just think about yourself.
• Make a “shifting playlist” or play songs from your favourite movies and TV shows.
• Light a candle that reminds you of a fun place you want to go, like a forest.
• Sit or lie down in a comfortable place when you need to focus.

Write down the reasons you want to move

Make sure your reasons for moving are good ones. Open a word document or a journal. Ask yourself what you want to get out of the change. You might want comfort, happiness, or adventure. Think about why you’re moving by making comments like these:

• “I’m tired of being alone and want to do something fun.”
• “School has been hard on me, and I just want to take a break for a while.”
• “I want to know what it’s like to be a Firebender!”

Pick your desired reality, or DR

You can get ideas from your favourite franchise or make your own world. You might want to go somewhere popular, like the Marvel Universe or U.A. High School from My Hero Academia. You can also make your own dimension, which can be either fantastical or real.

• Think of movies with beautiful settings that made you gasp for air.
• Mix different worlds together. For example, take parts from a book and a TV show.
•Come up with your own DR. Think about what your best life would look like.

Make yourself a new identity or stay the same. Think about how you want to look and what skills you want to have. For example, you might want purple hair and the ability to talk to animals. Give yourself a name and think of all the things you want your DR to have. You don’t have to change anything if you don’t want to. Maybe you just want a change of scenery.

•Make a bio for your character. It should include things like your past and your habits.
•Draw your “DR self” or use a simple tool like Artbreeder to make a portrait of yourself.
•Keep things about yourself that you like, like how funny you are or how kind you are.

Write down the kinds of relationships you want in your DR

Think about the friends, family, or partner you want. Think about the people you want to be close to and spend time with. They can be characters you love very much, like Draco Malfoy, or they can be people you wish were real. Write down information about anyone with whom you want to connect and talk often.

•”I want to go on a trip with a prince who can get along with dragons.”
• “I want friends who will stand by me through every problem!”
• “I want to be part of a clan that protects its planet!”

Make a decision about how long you want to stay in your DR

Get the most out of your trip. Maybe you’d like to stay for a whole month! Use a “time ratio,” which is a formula for figuring out how much time passes in your current reality (CR) while you’re in your dream reality (DR). For instance, one hour in your CR might be the same as a week in your DR.

• Make sure the time ratios in your CR work with your life. For instance, spend an hour in your CR and feel like you’re in your DR for a month, and then come back for dinner.
•When you have more free time in your CR, buy yourself something nice. During spring break, for example, you can spend a couple of hours a day travelling in your DR.

You can find other “shifters” by using hashtags

Learn from the people around you as they change, and make new friends. Go to a social media site like TikTok or IG and type different keywords into the search bar. For example, type in #shift, #shifter, #shifting, and #shiftingreality. Watch videos that stand out by clicking on them. Write down things that inspire you and talk to other people who follow you. This way, you can share ideas.

• Look up other phrases related to fandoms you like, like #harrypotter or #anime.
• Respond to what other shifters say and share your own thoughts.
• Write down things that excite you, like the chance to meet a character from a book.

Fill out your script

When you plan out your trip, it’s easier to enter your DR. A “script” is a plan you make for your DR so that you know what will happen when you change your reality. Write in your journal about who you are and the relationships you have already chosen. Then, make a map of the rules for the dimension you want to go to. When you have a clear picture of your DR, you can get to it faster.

• Plan when to go to your DR. For example, you might want to see the Shire in the summer.
• Say in your script what you don’t want to happen, like meeting Voldemort.
• Choose what, like quests or friendships, you want to leave up to chance.

Try grounding exercises while you are lying down

Relax so you can reach a higher level of awareness. Do a “body scan” by lying down on your bed and focusing on relaxing all your muscles. You should feel sleepy and almost ready to fall asleep when you’re done. You’re more likely to be in a hypnotic state, which is great for going to another dimension. Turning off the lights and playing some calm music might also help.

• Grounding exercises help you think of good things and see them in your mind’s eye.
• With self-hypnosis, you can pay less attention to your CR and more attention to your DR.

Use hopeful words to put yourself in a trance so you can see another reality. “Affirmations” are short, powerful messages that train your mind to think in a certain way. To get to your DR, tell yourself that you are fully capable of jumping to another dimension. Here are some fun, positive Quotes to get your mind going:

• “When I shift, I go to a perfect place.”
• “My mind can change the way things are.”
• “I want my wildest dreams to come true.”

Try out what TikTok likes to do. Most of the time, these are likely to work. As a starting point, you should try the most common ways to move into your DR. They are easy to do, and a lot of shifters who have tried them have said they worked for them:

• “The Raven Method”: Lie down in the starfish position, count to 100, and say your affirmations over and over again.
• “The Alice in Wonderland Method”: Imagine you’re leaning against a tree. When someone from your DR runs by, chase them like they’re the White Rabbit.
• “The Pillow Method”: Write positive statements on a piece of paper and put it behind your pillow before you go to sleep.
• “The Heartbeat Method”: Listen to an audio recording of a heartbeat in your DR while picturing yourself lying on the chest of someone you’re dating.
• “The Train Method”: Close your eyes and imagine you’re on a train to your DR.

Look for signs that you’re getting close to your DR

Pay attention to things like how heavy or light something feels. People in the shifting community call these changes “symptoms,” or signs that you are about to shift. Someone else’s experience might be different from yours. Here is a list of some of the most common signs:

• If you imagine falling down a rabbit hole, you might feel the pull of gravity.
• If you think about astral projection, which means sending your consciousness somewhere else, you might feel like you’re floating.
• If you see a bright light, it means you’re getting close to your DR.
• If you’re excited about your trip, your heart might beat fast.
• You might think about an angel number, like 999, which can be a sign from your DR that you are meant to help other people.

Have a good time in your DR

Enjoy everything, from meeting new people to seeing new places. Use all of your senses to really get into your DR. For example, you could look at the beautiful scenery—or your crush!—and listen to the wind blowing through the leaves or the Hogwarts students talking. Focus on making memories and making new friends that you won’t forget. You’ll have a lot to think about and smile about after you leave the DR. Have fun with smell, taste, and touch, too. For example, get lost in the delicious smells of an amazing feast, try potions and dishes that your friends make, and pet the feathers of a phoenix. Enjoy the feeling of other senses, like the sixth sense or any others you can think of. Maybe you can feel other people’s emotions in your DR.

When you get back, put your CR (Current Reality) first

Set a time limit for how long you’ll stay in your DR, and then work on making your CR great. Keep doing the things that make you happy and bring joy to your CR. For instance, eat a healthy breakfast every day and try some yoga in the morning. Take care of your physical, mental, and emotional health. You can’t shift if you don’t take care of your CR.
