PSG’s second loss in three games came at home, when Rennes beat them 2-0. Lionel Messi’s own fans booed and jeered at him loudly, which was to be expected. But Juninho, a great Lyon player, says that the fans were right to boo the Argentine because he is a big star.

Paris Saint-Germain, the team that currently leads Ligue 1, lost a shocking 2-0 game at the Parc des Princes. This made Lionel Messi’s day even worse. The Red-and-Blues’ home loss to Rennes was their second loss in three games, and they didn’t deserve any better because they were better than them from the start.

Karl Toko Ekambi put the visitors ahead right before halftime by controlling a pass over the top and shooting past goalkeeper Gianluigi Donnarumma. Even worse, former PSG player Arnaud Kalimuendo made it 2-0 with 42 minutes left by scoring on a square ball.

Even though they might win the league again, the atmosphere in Paris is not great, as Messi and the whole team were booed after the game. As was already said, the home crowd was not happy with yet another lackluster performance, especially from the World Cup winner from Argentina.

Before the game against Rennes, what did Junihno say about Lionel Messi?

When the final whistle blew, the 35-year-old seemed to have had enough because he went straight to the locker room. He didn’t bother to cheer for the home fans when he left the field, but Kylian Mbappe, who was the team captain, made sure to do so.

Some people don’t agree that Messi has had a great season with PSG, even though he has been a big part of the team’s success with key assists and goals. Juninho, who used to play for Lyon and the Brazil national team, wasn’t surprised that the crowd at the Parc des Princes booed the Argentine.

The 48-year-old former free-kick specialist saw what might happen and criticized the star before the game: “Even though he is Messi, he is still a person. Fans think that his last game is against Bayern, so I wouldn’t be surprised if he got booed. We play, we get paid well, and we like what we do, but in the end, everything we do is for the fans. Even if his name is Messi and he scored 35 goals this season, the crowd has every right to boo him. In Ligue 1, they are better than everyone else. “The lack of aggression is surprising to me,” Juninho told RMC Sport.
