As of Day 13, the U.S. has won 30 gold medals at the Paris Games, one more than China, which is in second place.
At the 2008 Beijing Olympics, Team USA came in second place with 36 gold medals, behind China with 48. This was the last time that Team USA didn’t win the most gold medals.
