Welcome to Players Championship week, which is the PGA Tour’s best non-major week. This year, 27 of the top 30 golfers in the Official World Golf Ranking will be playing at TPC Sawgrass. The only three golfers not on that list aren’t allowed to play because they switched to LIV Golf.

Because there are so many good golfers at the top of the PGA Tour, it’s hard for sportsbooks to pick a betting favourite right now, but they have to. Who do you think will win the Players Championship?

Who is most likely to win the 2023 Players Championship?

Who is the favourite to win the Players Championship shouldn’t be the question. It should be about who is most likely to win the Players Championship.

That’s right, World No. 1 Jon Rahm and World No. 3 Rory McIlroy are tied at the top of the odds board right now. At +850 odds, Rahm and McIlroy are both the favourites to win the Players Championship.

That’s not too much of a shock, given how good both players have been this year. Before his T39 finish at the Arnold Palmer Invitational last week, Rahm had won three of his first six starts to start the season and never finished worse than T7. McIlroy, who is from Northern Ireland, won his first tournament of the year at the CJ Cup. He just finished second at the API, one shot behind the winner, Kurt Kitayama.

Rahm and McIlroy are both good enough to be co-favorites this week, and it wouldn’t be surprising if either of them won the Players Championship on Sunday.

Cameron Smith won the most money on the PGA Tour when he won the Players Championship. As of March 6, all odds come from FanDuel.
