The game between Wisconsin and Indiana tonight at Bloomington, Indiana’s Assembly Hall was not like any other game.

There’s the basketball part. Indiana led by 15 points in the first half, but Wisconsin scored 12 straight points to cut the lead to five points at halfway. In the end, the Badgers fought back and tied the game with 10:06 left, but then something strange happened.

We found out later that the whole arena had to be evacuated because of a fire scare. But at that very moment, word spread that Assembly Hall was being evacuated, and no one knew why. Fans were told to go outside, and the teams were told to go to their changing rooms. Fans watching at home did nothing but wait with interest.

They lost badly because it looked like the Badgers had been getting stronger over the last few weeks. But all of that seems like a side story to the strange situation that led to the arena’s evacuation.
