With the help of Tiger Woods, the 2023 Hero World Challenge in the Bahamas competition has been announced.
With the help of Tiger Woods, the 2023 Hero World Challenge in the Bahamas competition has been announced.

The Hero World Challenge field has been shown off by Tiger Woods. Woods was supposed to host the event, but he isn’t there because he is still healing from surgery.

He was on the golf course not long ago, but he probably won’t be able to play again for a while. He has instead named 19 of the 20 players who will be in the game, which will happen in November and December.

Who is in the 2023 Hero World Challenge?

A lot of great players have been added to the Hero World Challenge group. That includes Viktor Hovland, Scottie Scheffler (world number one).

  1. Patrick Cantlay
  2. Xander Schauffele
  3. Max Homa
  4. Matt Fitzpatrick
  5. Brian Harman
  6. Wyndham Calrk
  7. Jordan Spieth
  8. Cameron Young
  9. Keegan Bradley
  10. Collin Morikawa
  11. Tony Finau
  12. Sam Burns
  13. Jason Day
  14. Sepp Straka
  15. Will Zalatoris
  16. Rickie Fowler (tournament exemption)
  17. Justin Thomas (tournament exemption), and
  18. TBA (tournament exemption).

Rickie Fowler and Justin Thomas are no longer required to play in the event. The top golfers in the Official World Golf Rankings make up a lot of the rest of the group.

The tournament rounds will take place at Albany from November 30th to December 3rd. For the eighth year in a row, the game is back in The Bahamas.

The Golf Channel is the only network that shows the Hero World Challenge during all four rounds. NBC will join them for the third and final rounds.

For the rest of the field, there is one single spot left. Because Woods was seen taking hits not long ago, many people think that he could claim it himself. He’s been getting better after surgery, but that’s a very long shot.

Though there are many possible options for the 20th and final member, it is still unclear who will be chosen. They need to find someone soon because the event doesn’t start for another month and a half.

Brooks Koepka cannot play Hero World Challenge.
Brooks Koepka cannot play Hero World Challenge.

Brooks Koepka can’t take part. Even though it’s not a real PGA Tour game, the Tour has approved it. This means that LIV Golf members can’t play, and Koepka would still be able to qualify as the 18th best golfer in the world.

It will be important for Viktor Hovland to protect his title. He has won it twice already in his long and successful career.
