Wrexham’s Hollywood owners are thrilled about the team’s latest FA Cup win.

Hollywood owners: The English town of Shrewsbury Ryan Reynolds and Rob McElhenney are clearly excited about the FA Cup, just like their football team, Wrexham.

The famous competition’s third round took place on Sunday, and the stars watched from their homes in the United States as Wrexham beat their local rivals Shrewsbury 1-0. Shrewsbury was a team from a higher level in English football.

The Welsh club will find out on Monday who it will play in the fourth round, which is the last 32. It’s likely that it will be a Premier League team.

Reynolds and McElhenney bought Wrexham for $2.5 million in 2021 and made the club the subject of the famous TV documentary “Welcome to Wrexham.” That would make them happy.

Because of this, they’ve become big football fans. Reynolds, who plays Deadpool, posted a picture of himself on X (formerly Twitter) sitting next to Jackman while watching the Shrewsbury-Wrexham match.

The FA Cup’s official account on X shared a video of defender Tom O’Connor scoring Wrexham’s goal against Shrewsbury in the 72nd minute. The account said that the fans of the team liked the video. “You should have seen my living room,” McElhenney wrote in response.

Wrexham has a long history in the FA Cup. In 1992, they shocked everyone by beating Arsenal 2-1 in the third round, which was the English championship at the time. In 1997, Wrexham made it to the quarterfinals and beat West Ham, a team from the Premier League.

Around this time last year, Wrexham and its famous owners got a lot of attention when they went on a cup run. They beat a second-tier Championship team in Coventry and then took Sheffield United, who was going to the Premier League, to a repeat.

Wrexham has already made it to the fourth round this season by beating Mansfield, Yeovil, and now Shrewsbury.

The group also does well in league play. It is in third place in League Two, which is the fourth level, and wants to get promoted again and again.
